Dear Diary,

I think I'm going to write stuff and post it on here. This blog is boring and basically abandoned, so I'm going to use it for semi-personal use. I will keep the name, just cuz my URL is abbylittlethings, but the content will be changing slightly. Just so you know. Peace out.

A's Story Hour

“If we get arrested, it's your fault.” my bestfriend Amie said, as she hoisted herself over the chain link fence and joined me on the other side.

“We're not gonna get arrested, chill out! This is fun!” I said, chuckling. I stuck my cigarette back into my mouth and took a long whiff.

“Those are bad for you, you know.” she said, puffing from climbing over the fence. A cloud of air rose from her mouth in the cold air.

“I know. I don't care though,” I said, and tugged on her sleeve, “C'mon!” we took off running, to the abandoned bridge near our boarding school. I had a friend there, an older teenager, named Micheal. He lived under there, in secret, and often we visited him at night, when we could escape our boarding school. We approached the slope that led down under the bridge, but before we could ascend, Micheal came from the shadows.

“Don't go down there.” he said. We jumped, not expected him.

“Why not?” I asked. He sighed slowly.

“There's a...dead man under there.” he replied. Our eyes opened with curiosity and shock. Amie gasped and gripped my wrist hard.

“A what?” she asked. I could feel her arm shaking. I was scared myself.

“Dead man.”

“Did you...kill him?” I asked cautiously. He looked away, and then met my eyes.

No.” he said honestly.

“Let's see it,” I said, and made a move toward the bridge. Amie held on to my arm, however, and I couldn't make very much progress.

“Amie, you can stay up here if you'd like.” I said. She shook her head. She was always afraid of being by herself, especially at night. We all went down the slope and under the bridge. Micheal lit a lantern he kept under there, and the weak light shown down on the dead man's face. It was blue and white, his eyes were partially open, his throat was cut, as well as a deep, wide gash where his heart was, his clothes were torn in some places, and he wore no shoes.

“Who is he?” I wondered. Micheal shook his head and said nothing. We all looked down at him, all thinking of who he'd been and why he was under the bridge.
Suddenly, a voice came from the darkness.

“I'm coming for you all. So run.” it said. It was a deep, scary voice. We all yelped and Amie screamed. Then a long, human growl came from the shadows, and we did start running. We ran down the path that used to be a road, and into the woods. We could hear something crashing after us, and we ran as fast as we could, jumping over stumps and old branches, panting, Amie crying. She tripped all of a sudden, and fell. I didn't notice until she screamed,

“NO! PLEASE N--!” and was quiet. She was dead, killed by whoever that creature was. I stopped, turned, and was about to go back to her, when Micheal pulled me by the arm and ran with me, as rapidly as we could go. I started crying then, and the tears blocked my vision. The thing was still chasing us, chasing us. Micheal was a little behind me now, and suddenly he gave a yelp and was pulled backward into the darkness. Quiet. Just my breath and the creature's. I took off again, petrified. My heard was beating so fast it hurt. My vision was blurry. My body was in total and complete panic. Suddenly I came to a small clearing and by the light of the moon, I was confronted with a cliff. I looked down – very far down, so far I couldn't see the bottom, even for the full moon. I heard heavy breathing and human growls behind me, and I stepped into space, in a panic. My heart dropped with my body, and I reached out, and grabbed onto a hard root sticking out from the cliff. I dangled, and looked up. A hideous, bloodstained, indescribably awful face looked down at me. It had no pupils, only black in its eyes. Its teeth were sharpened, and it smiled at me, a mean, psychotic smile. It reached slowly for me, and I let go, falling to my death. The next thing I saw was –

TRY AGAIN OR QUIT

a round green mouse went to and fro from the options, finally picking TRY AGAIN, and suddenly I realized I was a character in a video game. I found myself on the other side of the fence again, watching Amie climb over.
“If we get arrested, it's your fault.”

Books I've Been Reading

Lately I've been reading a lot, and I thought I would share the books and what they're about and why I like them.

Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt ::
This book is about four kids whose mother abandons them in a mall parking lot on their way to their Aunt Cilla's house. The kids decide to go on, and their journey is full of hardships and adventure.
I like this book because the author writes it so realistically. You feel the same feelings as the kids, you see the same things as them, and it's great.

Dicey's Song by Cynthia Voigt ::
This book is a sequel to Homecoming, when the children find a home with their grandmother and start life in the town of Crisfield. They make friends and do new things, and it's also realistically written.

The Penderwicks on Gardam Street by Jeanne Birdsall ::
One of my most favorite books, this is a sequel to The Pendericks. It's about the girls as they try to find an extra-awful date for their daddy, so that he'll quit dating altogether. Funny and imaginative, it's extremely lifelike.

A Swiftly Tilting Planet by Madeline L'Engle
This is a sci-fi book, about time traveling and a special kind of communication called Kything. It's a very exceptional book, very enjoyable to read. It's part of the A Wrinkle In Time series.

Marie Antoinette, Princess of Versailles by Kathryn Lasky ::
This is a biography in the form of a diary. It really makes you understand the inner thoughts of the Queen before she was married and a little after.

I hope you enjoyed this list, and I hope you'll check out the books and come to love them, as I do. Over and out!
Hahaha! I love those.
